Mass Intentions and Sanctuary Lamp

When someone has died, even a person who is not Catholic, to have a Mass offered for the repose of their soul is beneficial to the deceased and comforting to the family. To have a Mass offered for the intentions of someone living on their birthday/anniversary or when special payers are needed is also appropriate, beneficial, and appreciated. One must never forget the infinite graces that flow from the Sacrifice of the Mass which benefit one's soul. To make a request to have a Mass intention said for a loved one, please contact the parish office. The donation for a Mass intention is currently $10.

St. Mary's and St. John's also offers the Sanctuary Lamp to be lit for a week for a deceased or an intention. A notice appears in the bulletin the week that is requested. The donation for this is also $10. Please contact the parish office to schedule the Sanctuary Lamp.

Healing Mass

About Antoine Tetrault:

Antoine Tetrault (1881-1963) was a husband, father of 10 children, and a factory worker in Montreal, Canada. In 1929, after learning he had a serious disease, he appealed to Our Blessed Mother for help. She told him to go to St. Ann Depaupre's shrine in Quebec. There he prayed and received healing. He also received the gift of healing others. He returned to Montreal, where he began his healing ministry.

In the 1940's he moved to Clayton, NY with his family. There he continued his healing ministry in his home at 314 John Street (now the Thousand Island Art Center). He healed people with various ailments and also many crippled people, who left their crutches and other prosthesis with him in thanksgiving. This picture shows Antoine standing in front of the crutches hanging on the wall at his home.

He was a very devout Catholic, attended daily Mass, and had a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary. His healing ministry went from the 1930's to the 1960's when he died. He is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Clayton.

A memorial service has been held every year since his death. Since 1992, St. Mary's Church has celebrated a Healing Mass and Memorial Service in his memory. Participants can receive the Sacrament of the Sick during the Mass. It is held each year on the 2nd Saturday of June at 11:00 a.m. After the Mass prayer teams are available to pray for individual needs. A social time to meet Tetrault family members and share testimonies of healing is held after the Mass. Light refreshments are served. All are invited and encouraged to attend.

Eucharistic Adoration

Eucharistic Adoration is offered for vocations after the 9am Mass on the first Friday of every month. Come to a quiet place where you can be with Jesus. Spend a little time in adoration, contrition, thanksgiving, supplication/petition, and prayer. He is waiting for you...
- Adoration - realizing the greatness of God, pondering who God is, who I am
- Contrition (Sorrow) - for my failings, my sin, my weakness and for the sins of the world
- Thanksgiving - for the blessings and gifts God has given to me, natural and spiritual
Supplication (Petition) - presenting to God my needs, spiritual or temporal, for body or soul, for vocations, respect for life, family needs, and our country
- Prayer with the Sacred Scriptures Pray the Rosary or the Chaplet of Divine Mercy
- Just spend time with Jesus

Children's Liturgy of the Word

Young children are invited to hear the Word of God at their own level.

During the Liturgy of the Word at Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary's Church, children are called forth with a catechist, given a blessing, and then go to hear God's Word.
